How To Setup Google Analytics Perfectly | A Step-by-Step Guideline

Hello ShineMat blog lovers, If you are a new blogger or a website owner or web admin then you must set up a Google Analytics tool to track your website traffic. So, in my opinion, setting up Google Analytics traffic researching tools for your blog or website is an important part.

In today's tutorial, we will teach you the whole setup steps of the Google Analytics tool for understanding your audience and improving your website's performance.

Let's get started...

How to set up google analytics for blog or website

1. Go to the Google Analytics official website and click "Start for free." Then Follow the prompts to create a Google account. If you already have just signed in with your Gmail and password.

2. Just after creating or login to your Google account, simply click the "Admin" button and then click the "Create Property." After that, simply Enter the name of your blog title and the URL.

3. After setting up the property successfully, you'll get an analytics tracking code. Now copy the tracking code to a notepad.

4. The next step is to install the Google Analytics tracking code on your blog or website. If you use a blogging platform like WordPress or Google’s Blogger, you can usually set up the analytics tracking code through a plugin or in the settings.
If you have a custom website, you can add the tracking code to the header or footer of your website that is instructed in the Google Analytics settings page.

5. After installing the Google Analytics tracking code on your site, you'll need to wait for at least 24 hours to update all the settings. But normally it takes less than 24 hours to update. In my case, it took only 2 hours.

6. Goals are actions that you want your traffic to take on your blog or website, such as signing up for a newsletter, advertising an order, or making any purchase from your website. Configure goals to track how well your blog is converting your visitors.

7. Filters can help you exclude spam traffic, track specific subdomains, or segment your traffic data. Prefer to set up filters to get more accurate analytics data.

8. After every setup is completed on the Google Analytics tool and your all traffic data has started to populate, you can start exploring the traffic reports. Simply check out the Audience, Acquisition, and Behavior reports and start collecting data on your blog's performance.
