Soon after, the elephant started attacking unfamiliar people. Without informing the zoo authorities, they took the injured son to the hospital for treatment. On the way, when the boy Jahid died, Mahout Azad Ali took the body to their home in Maulvibazar's Kulaura area for burial.
The staff of the National Zoo became aware of this incident through word of mouth, then the director of the zoo, Rafiqul Islam Talukdar, learned about it in detail. He also informed that there have been discussions with Mahout Azad Ali in the subsequent time.
Rafiqul Islam Talukdar also informed that there are a total of five elephants in Bangladesh's National Zoo and all are now under control and healthy.
